Karolina Laskowska is the designer of Romanticide Razor Design : university student of Art & Design in London, she finds time to create in the evening.
Inspired by the steampunk genre, which puts a sort of outdated technology in a historical atmosphere, like the london 90th century, Karolina finds inspiration in the elements looking grim, disturbing and Victorian age, or the creations of Alexander McQueen.
She prefers to work with wire, semi precious stones and pearls, to assemble them with found objects, like broken clocks and refusing elements, parts of dolls, keys, but also fabrics.
What she creates is not the result of a plan or a specific project, but the material suggests the new life to give. It is not a creative process dictated by time and method, Karolina does custom made creations, according to the need of the individual.
Whatever she draws or creates, it's only the expression of a need, a capability.
She wants to have fun. She wants you to enjoy life with her creations.

Ispirata dal genere steampunk, il quale inserisce una specie di tecnologia anacronistica in un contesto storico come la Londra Ottocentesca, Karolina trova ispirazione in elementi dall'aspetto macabro, inquietante e vittoriano, oppure dalle creazioni di Alexander McQueen. Preferisce lavorare con filo, pietre semi preziose e perle, per assemblarle con oggetti trovati, come orologi rotti e mal funzionanti, pezzi di bambole, chiavi, ma anche tessuti.
Quello che crea non è frutto di un piano o di un progetto specifico: è il materiale cui deve dare vita che le suggerisce la sua nuova forma. Non c'è un processo di creazione dettato da tempi e metodi, Karolina crea anche su commissione, in base all'esigenza della singola persona.
Qualsiasi cosa disegna o crea è, per lei, divertimento e puro godimento delle sue capacità.
