This is what Rebecca Courtnay did, jewelry designer for Urban Rose Jewelry, when, for years, she has accumulated almost an entire collection of vintage pieces, used and in poor condition. She has always been a successful woman, and it defined herself as a person.
When her business evaporates, do to the destiny, she finds herself as a full-time mother, locked in the walls of the house.
Rebecca needs to reinvent his life: she needed something that commit the time and mind. Create. Invent. Research.
Rebecca always loves antiques, she always felt satisfacted and fulfillment by trying to purchase clothing and vintage items. It gives shape to her imagination, using old jewelry: give them a second chance was how to give herself the chance to redeem herself.
Each component is the expression of a bygone era, full of meaning: its goal is to turn these valuable accessory in a modern, elegant touch, delicate and feminine. Here is her creativity. Being able to think of anything broken, damaged and old as the key component designing new jewelry.
Thinking that when she started, the vintage inspiration of the past were not as strong as today. But behind the project of Rebecca is not a careful analysis of market or trade!
She just loves her jewelry and their research process and creation, even as she loves to feel satisfied at the end of the day, when, looking back, sees the result of her working hours.
Her creativity is something very simple: create what helps her feel good and create what is inside her, disappearing into the fascinating life of the early '900, to make sense of those creations which now offers.
Vi è mai capitato di visitare un mercatino dell’usato e di trovare gioielli bellissimi, ma con pezzi mancanti oppure rotti? E vi mai capitato di comprare gioielli difettosi, solo perché pezzi unici e rari?
Questo è quello che ha fatto Rebecca Courtnay, designer di Urban Rose Jewelry da Melbourne, quando per anni ha accumulato praticamente un’intera collezione di pezzi d’annata, usati e malmessi.
Lei, da sempre donna di successo e da esso definita come persona, ha visto sfumare la sua attività e personalità a causa del destino. Ritrovarsi mamma a tempo pieno, chiusa nelle mura di casa, ha spinto Rebecca a dover reinventare la sua vita: aveva bisogno di qualcosa che le impegnasse il tempo e la mente.
Creare. Inventare. Ricercare.
Rebecca da sempre adora gli oggetti d’antiquariato, provando soddisfazione e appagamento all’acquisto di abiti e oggetti vintage.
Dà forma alla sua fantasia, utilizzando vecchi gioielli: dare loro una seconda chance è stato come dare a se stessa la possibilità di riscattarsi.
Ogni componente è l’espressione di un’epoca passata, piena di significato: il suo obiettivo è quello di trasformare queste preziosità in un accessorio moderno, dal tocco elegante, fine e femminile.
Ecco la sua creatività. Riuscire ad immaginarsi qualcosa di rotto, rovinato e vecchio come la componente fondamentale per il design di nuovi gioielli.
Pensare che quando ha cominciato, il vintage e l’ispirazione al passato non erano ancora forti come oggi. Ma dietro al progetto di Rebecca non c’è un’attenta analisi di mercato o commerciale!
Semplicemente lei ama i suoi gioielli e il loro processo di ricerca e di creazione, così come ama sentirsi soddisfatta a fine giornata, quando, guardandosi indietro, vede il risultato delle sue ore di lavoro.
La sua creatività è qualcosa di molto semplice: crea ciò che la fa sentire bene e crea ciò che è dentro di lei, perdendosi in quella affascinante vita dei primi anni del ‘900, per dare un senso a quelle creazioni che oggi propone.
