ANOMAL COUTURE_ Edgy Couture

Anomal Couture Creativity: interview with the fashion designer, Sonia.

"I seriously started in fashion design after graduate fashion college (option costume) back in 2003.
I started doing custom order at the age of 16.

I was working "to get the experience" as a men designer for a popular jeans company.
After a year and half of trying  this industry, I soon realized that i needed to create and produce my own ideas and vision as i dreamed them to be.
my vision of
Anomal Couture was drawn since 2000 but only in 2004 it was time to make it real!

So with no financial help or so, but with a lot of imagination and motivation, I created and developed what is today
Anomal Couture.
My  Focus for
Anomal Couture is based on original ideas, timeless creations and impeccable confection.
Inspired by everything and everyone who surrounds me, from my friends, my artistic social network, music, arts, movies, etc...  I always try to incorporate my contemporary vision to historical influences.

But Anomal Couture is uppermost inspired by the women who wears my confection.

My Signature style is Contemporary Classical with Edgy Details and Perfect Cut.
I love to categorize Anomal Couture as Prêt à Porter Couture.

Since my line is a mix between ready to wear and high end couture.
Driven by passion and determination. Since the beginning, I do almost everything by hands.

I am alone in my business, I do everything, from the creation, to the confection, to the sale, the representation and the production.
In a way it's a great way to keep up the quality at the level I wanted  Anomal Couture to be. But, in other hand, it makes thing go slowly that the vision I expect my small business to be!

As my designs are in majority timeless, the black is a predominant in my creations.

Ladies who love A.C., normally, have a secret passion with black, and  they also usually buy the pieces to wear them in several occasions, so as their new edgy Classical. And without forgetting to mention I am fully inspire by the "no" color black.
I also do other colors range: I usually focus on one or 2 other colors and a print in each collection, also after i discuss with my customers  for the possibilities of other colors propositions.

The women who wear
Anomal Couture are interested in artistic influences, and drama personality.

Anomal Couture inspire the women who wear it to feel their emotions and help them represent what they want to be.
A bit like a second skin, but The Anomal Couture Women  is especially looking for quality pieces, exclusivity and originality.

For the upcoming A/W 2010 I am mostly inspire by a romantic warrior.

So i am surprisingly using the color back!
I play more with the texture of the fabrics, I love leather, but since I am a vegetarian, I try keep the leather for useful accessories, or very timeless creations.

I used pleather, wool... And my favorites fabrics  such a silk  charmeuse, dupion, a linen blend (which is also perfect for all season) and my high quality jersey."
